There is mixed news for Fiorentina striker Mario Gomez after his check-up in Munich.
The German international has still not returned to full training with the squad despite tests showing his knee ligament injury was clinically healed.
He flew to Munich for a meeting with specialist Professor Muller Wolfhart today and the club released a statement on his diagnosis.
The complete healing of the lesion to the collateral medial ligament was confirmed, but there is an inflammation around the pes anserinus area of the knee.
While the pain from this inflammation continues, there will be “caution” in returning Gomez to competitive action.
The player will remain in Munich for treatment and return to Italy over the next few days.
