Il Secolo XIX expects Juraj Kucka to be sidelined for six months after the Genoa man picked up an injury.
The midfielder, who was set to be of transfer interest to numerous clubs in January, has damaged ligaments in his left knee.
The Slovakian international, 26, will be examined by professor Pierpaolo Mariani at some stage today ahead of surgery.
Kucka, signed by Genoa from Sparta Prague in January 2011, had scored two goals in 11 games for the Grifoni this term.
