Roma will release a statement “either tonight or tomorrow morning. Things are proceeding well,” in the takeover talks with Thomas Di Benedetto.
The American tycoon heads a conglomerate ready to buy out the Sensi family and Unicredit bank in ownership of the Serie A side.
He flew in yesterday for negotiations, which are at a very advanced stage.
“There will be a statement either tonight or tomorrow morning,” announced Roma2000 President Attilio Zimatore, who was taking part in the talks.
“Things are proceeding well.”
Journalists camped outside the lawyer's office asked if Zimatore was confident of a positive outcome.
“You'll see in the statement.”
AS Roma are on the stock exchange, so any major announcements must be made after the markets have closed for the day.
