Milan – the only Italian club left in the Champions League – will today find out the name of their last 16 opponents.
The Rossoneri reached the knock-out stages last week on the same day that Juventus and Napoli exited the competition.
The Diavolo will be drawn against a group winner given that they finished second, but they will not be able to face Barcelona as they both progressed from the same section.
Milan will be paired with one from Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
Milan will face an away game first. Those ties will be played on either February 18, 19, 25 and 26. The second legs will be staged on March 11,12,18 or 19.
Group winners: Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
Group runners-up: Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen, Galatasaray, Manchester City, Milan, Olympiacos, Schalke 04, Zenit.
