Ciro Immobile has explained why his goal at Udinese was crucial for himself and his Torino side on Sunday.
The striker netted in the 2-0 victory at the weekend, a goal the man co-owned with Juventus was desperate for.
“I’m really happy with the goal,” the former Italian Under-21 striker told Tuttosport.
“I’m a bit superstitious and I wanted to get out of the five goal bracket as, last year, that is the goal tally I got stuck on at Genoa.
“Thank goodness I have surpassed that mark now.”
Toro are a side in form given that they have collected three wins and a draw from the last four games. That run has allowed them to climb into seventh.
“This is the start of a new championship for us,” added the centre-forward. “We played a great game and we deserved the win.
“Let’s now look ahead. We can enjoy these 22 points in the standings, but we can’t just be satisfied with that.”
Toro will be up against Chievo, Parma and Fiorentina next.
