Lazio attacker Stefano Mauri has reiterated his insistence that he is innocent, despite being banned from the game for nine months.
The Biancocelesti attacker was found guilty of failing to report a potential fix to authorities in the Genoa-Lecce game of May 2011 earlier this year.
And the veteran forward has claimed he has never bet on matches and has done nothing wrong.
“I have never bet on football,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “Tennis and basketball are the sports I bet one.
“I do not understand why I have ended up in this situation.
“I know that I haven’t done anything wrong. Two years this has been going on. I hope it ends soon.”
