Hernanes believes that his hard work over the Christmas holidays has paid off after the win over Inter on Monday.
Lazio defeated the Nerazzurri 1-0 this evening to move into the top half of the table.
And the Brazilian has claimed that the whole squad put in a shift during the winter break in order to finish strong this season.
“Reja doesn’t have a magic wand,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “We trained a lot over the Christmas holidays.
“I didn’t go back to Brazil because I wanted to be part of a team that shows its potential.
“We have to improve mentally and physically to be at the top of the table.
“If we are all 100 per cent fit then we can make our contribution.”
Hernanes then commented on his contract situation at the club, with reports he may sign an extension soon.
“We have spoken. There has been a first meeting, but I am calm. I don’t want to rush things.
“I just want to show what I can do on the pitch.”
