Siena have been docked points in the Serie B table due to financial irregularities, but Sassuolo were only fined.
The Disciplinary Commission today ruled that Siena will be docked two points and Lega Pro side Ascoli one point for financial irregularities.
It’s another heavy blow for Siena, who had already been docked five points for the same reason, as the club narrowly avoided bankruptcy over the summer.
The points penalties are down to their failure to pay employment contributions on wages and means Siena now have 27 points in the table.
Serie A team Sassuolo have been fined.
