Nicolas Burdisso has confirmed that he will leave Roma this month, citing his ambition to play in the World Cup.
The defender has played just five teams for the Giallorossi this season, and with his contract up in the summer, the veteran has revealed that he will look for a new option in this World Cup year.
“I have decided to leave Roma,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “I want to go to the World Cup in Brazil and I need to play more regularly.
“I won’t go back to South America, I’ll stay in Europe for the foreseeable future.”
Genoa have been linked with a move for the 32-year-old.
