Livorno are seen to have brought in Mimmo Di Carlo as Coach to replace Attilio Perotti, opting against Davide Nicola’s proposed return.
The Serie A strugglers only moved last Monday to remove Nicola from the bench and bring technical director Perotti in.
However, on from a poor reception from the club’s ultras and a 3-0 defeat at Roma in Week 20, Perotti yesterday reportedly indicated to President Aldo Spinelli his intention not to remain in the role for long, with advice that Nicola should be reinstated.
Whilst Nicola was seen as ready to step back in to continue his contract, which runs until June 2015, it was reportedly only on the guarantee that Spinelli invest in ‘three-to-four’ signings to help boost the team’s attempts to avoid relegation.
On from this situation, it is reported on Tuesday that Spinelli has opted against Nicola in favour of former Chievo and Sampdoria Coach Mimmo Di Carlo.
Di Carlo, who was last in work with the Flying Donkeys in late 2012, ended his playing career with the Amaranto.
Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb on the situation, ds Capozucca has indicated that the 49-year-old will be confirmed this afternoon.
“At 14.30 [1.30pm UK time], Livorno will hold a Press conference to clarify the whole situation,” Capozucca is quoted as saying.
“Di Carlo? Probably we will also announce a new Coach.”
