New Roma signing Michel Bastos has apologised to Lazio fans after he was seen wearing a scarf insulting the club.
The Brazilian winger, who has joined the Giallorossi on loan until the end of the season, was seen adorning a scarf with the words ‘Lazio Merda’.
However, the 30-year-old has taken to Twitter to say sorry to the Biancocelesti supporters.
“I never wanted to disrespect anyone,” he posted via his official profile. “What happened yesterday was a misunderstanding.
“I apologise to the team and to the fans of Lazio.
“I was thrown a scarf, and only afterwards did I see that there was an insult on it.
“Thank you for all your messages. I’m upset with what happened.”
