Giampaolo Pazzini says Mario Balotelli is ‘another guy’ away from the cameras and that his reaction at Cagliari was because ‘he feels the game’.
The striker picked up a yellow card at the weekend for gesturing towards the Isolani supporters on Sunday after scoring late on against their team.
Triggering an automatic one-game ban, Balotelli has come under scrutiny for his reaction, but has support from his strike partner.
“Away from the cameras he is another guy,” Pazzini has considered on Tiki Taka this week.
“He must improve, even he knows it, but he is a good lad. Then, on the field he is very emotional. With his penalties he looks very cool, but he feels the game.
“His reaction at the weekend? It happens every now and then, Mario has these reactions. Unfortunately it happens at some stadiums, there may be taunts.
“Can we play together with the national team? We have different characteristics, Mario really likes to move in the field, whilst with Milan we have done well and to be at the World Cup would be a dream.”
Pazzini also netted at the weekend, to mark his latest return from injury.
“I had been out previously for so long, I wanted to play for lost time, the goal on Sunday gives me that enthusiasm and morale. I want to feel good and to take full satisfaction, for me and for the team.
“The goals are what a striker is all about, the feelings are why we are attacking players. When it happens, we are much happier.
“How have I seen the team in trouble from the outside? Bad, you feel powerless. Now we are a little broken down, we need to find continuity and do better in the second half of the season.
“Seedorf? I haven’t worked with him a lot yet, I have only had two training sessions with the team.
“He has an important personality, he has won everything when he was here, he can give us a hand, but the input must come from the players.
“And Allegri? He was an impeccable Coach. In these cases it is the Coach who pays, and there is particular regret at a personal level, as he has given so much to the group.
