It is reported that Antonio Cassano's lawyers have offered to pay a huge fine rather than have his contract terminated, but Sampdoria may not agree.
The club began proceedings to fire the player after his blazing row with President Riccardo Garrone over refusing to attend an awards ceremony.
Cassano has apologised repeatedly, but the patron insists he cannot forgive and forget this incident.
The two parties have their lawyers involved during the arbitration process to see if his contract will be terminated.
According to La Repubblica, Cassano's legal team has asked for the matter to be resolved with a very large fine.
However, President Garrone has made it clear he will not be happy with anything except a termination for ‘insubordination.'
