Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani thinks the criticism Inter boss Leonardo has received is indicative of what a sorry state football is in today.
There have been calls for Leonardo to be sacked and several players sold after back-to-back defeats to Milan in the Derby della Madonnina and Schalke in the Champions League.
Speaking at a Milan Golf Tour event, Galliani said: "It's football that's terrible. Leonardo isn't going through a difficult moment at all. Just think that until 8:45pm last Saturday he was being defined as a great Coach and the greatest motivator after having put together an extraordinary run.
"In reality it's football that's terrible.
"Now don't go and say that I am an Inter fan, but you can't erase 13 years of being close to Leonardo. I want to sign him in Paris and then proposed making him Coach to Silvio Berlusconi.
"I am not an Inter fan, but I have a lot of affection for Leonardo."
