Pippo Inzaghi hopes to be back in action at Easter to help Milan's Scudetto push and declares: “I'd love Mario Balotelli to join us.”
The 37-year-old striker thought his career was over after damaging knee ligaments five months ago, but is getting back to full fitness and could play again before the end of the season.
“I am not setting any deadlines, but I hope to be back for Easter,” he told Sport Mediaset. “I must thank the fans who have kept my enthusiasm on a high.
“I am confident Milan will win the Scudetto. Since the first day Massimiliano Allegri arrived, he tried to talk with the players and seek their opinions. His methods remind me of Carlo Ancelotti's.”
Inzaghi is nearing retirement and a potential heir to his throne is Manchester City striker Balotelli.
“Obviously, I'd love Balotelli to join us. He would find many positive examples in this squad to learn from. I'd also like my friend Kaka to return.
“There is so much pressure on Alexandre Pato, though. At his age I was still in the amateur Leagues, while he has already been playing for Milan for four years.”
