Mimmo Di Carlo criticised his Livorno side for putting in a second half display at Sampdoria that turned a 2-0 advantage into a 4-2 defeat.
The Tuscans were two goals ahead at the interval at Marassi, only to see Samp mount a second-half comeback to take the points with four goals scored.
For the defeated visitors’ Coach, the turnaround should not have been allowed.
“I’m angry, after a first period of that kind you cannot take to the field for the second half in that way,” Di Carlo commented post-match.
“Unfortunately, after Sampdoria made it 1-2, it was another game, we were not able to handle the advantage, whilst there were two own goals and this 4-2 cries out for vengeance.
“When we made a mistake it cost us dearly, but on the counter-attack we built up much but struggled to find the goal.
“Livorno are a team that plays and fights, here we took a wrong turn, but nothing is lost in the fight for survival.”
