Javier Zanetti says Inter are “aware it will be difficult against Schalke, but many things can happen in 90 minutes. We got it wrong in the first leg.”
The reigning Champions League holders must overturn a 5-2 scoreline in Gelsenkirchen tomorrow night to reach the semi-final.
“We respect our opponents and never under-estimated them,” said the captain in his pre-match Press conference.
“They proved in the first leg that they are a good side and must have quality to come this far. Despite knowing it will be difficult, we want to play a great game to gamble with our chances right to the end.
“We got it wrong in the first leg. Anyone can get a game wrong, but that takes nothing away from the quality of Inter and what this team has won in recent years.”
President Massimo Moratti called it a ‘Mission Impossible,' but Zanetti thinks four goals are entirely possible.
“We are aware it's going to be difficult, but we have 90 minutes to seek this great result. Many things can happen in 90 minutes if you put in a world class performance. The key must be making few errors and creating many goal-scoring situations.”
