Lazio Coach Edy Reja has called on Biancoceleste fans to get behind the team against Milan tomorrow as they chase a place in the Europa League.
Large sections of the club’s support have boycotted recent home games in protest at the way President Claudio Lotito is running the club and plan to do so again.
“I’ve said before that the teams needs the affection of the fans and I’ll say it again,” Reja told Corriere dello Sport.
“If we can get close to the Europa League places we’ll have even more of a chance.
“The Europa League will be decided very soon. We are behind Parma and we now have three important games, including a game against them.
“This game against Milan will be decisive, both for the points and from a psychological aspect.
“More than anything the team needs to keep up the intensity that we showed at Cagliari.”
The 68-year-old was then asked about the precarious position of opposite number tomorrow Clarence Seedorf.
“When a new Coach comes in there are problems,” he explained. “We are judged on results so when they don’t come, criticism rains down.
“Seedorf has already seen it but he doesn’t have a magic wand.”
