Torino fans started a petition to move their game with Chievo, as it coincides with the anniversary of the Superga tragedy.
The entire Grande Torino squad perished when their plane crashed into the Superga Basilica in the mountains above Turin at 17.03 on May 4, 1949.
Every year the current squad and supporters flock to the site for a special mass held at the same time the accident occurred.
However, that might not be possible this time because Torino’s match away to Chievo has been set for May 4.
The Associazione Memoria Storica Granata invited fans to sign a petition asking the Lega Serie A to move the fixture.
Il Grande Torino remains one of the best football teams the world has ever seen, dominating Serie A with five consecutive titles and most of them forming the Italy squad at that time.
They were flying back from a friendly with Benfica in Portugal when the plane crashed in thick fog, killing all 31 on board.
