Alberto Paloschi says he has no regrets that his career has taken him away from Milan, whilst he looks at Chievo’s more ‘manageable’ calendar coming up.
The Flying Donkeys are embroiled in another relegation battle but have their young striker’s 10 League goals so far to thank for a recent resurgence.
For the 24-year-old who developed at Milan and will face the Rossoneri this Saturday night, finding success lower down the table has not left him with regret at what might have been at San Siro.
“I have no regrets, because some players need experience to mature,” Paloschi has commented in the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“The big clubs want players who are ready, because they always have to win. Some of us need a different path so as to bring out the best.
“I turned to the provinces and I do not regret the experience that I have had.
“I have acquired serenity and continuity, I am more relaxed for when games come, knowing that I have worked well during the week.
“Before I was always paranoid. The national team? To play even one game would be a privilege for me.
“Milan? They will rise again, I have no doubt. I understand the bitterness of the fans, but they should put themselves in our shoes. We are not self-defeating.
“Seedorf is a great champion, he knows how to convey a winning mentality.”
Paloschi considered Chievo’s current predicament and hinted the one suffering most is President Luca Campedelli.
“At the end of every match the President is exhausted, it is not easy to keep a team like this in this League for many years.
“We now have a manageable calendar, but we have to beat Livorno, Sassuolo and Cagliari.”
