Zlatan Ibrahimovic hailed his Paris Saint-Germain teammate Marco Verratti as “world class” ahead of facing Chelsea.
The former Juventus, Inter and Milan striker held a Press conference today to prepare for tomorrow’s Champions League quarter-final against Jose Mourinho’s men.
“Experience is certainly a bonus for those who have it and Chelsea are a mature side,” said Ibra.
“We are like they were at the start, eight years ago, but we also have players who have won the Champions League and I am not talking about me.
“There are also other players who just need to step on the field and play the way they usually do. The example is Marco Verratti, who might not have all that much experience, but he doesn’t need it because he is a world class player.”
Verratti is widely expected to be in the Italy squad for the 2014 World Cup and is considered the heir to Andrea Pirlo.
The 21-year-old midfielder has scored one goal in four games for the Azzurri at senior level, but is a regular at PSG.
