Fiorentina’s Alessandro Matri is convinced that he will soon start scoring again despite scoring just two goals in his last 18 appearances.
The 29-year-old was on target twice on his debut for the Viola but has suffered something of a goal drought ever since.
“I am going through a difficult period,” Matri told the Viola Channel. “I have a lot of desire to score and I am unhappy about what is happening.
“I am trying to handle this period properly. I am working hard for the team, the goals will come.”
The player then commented on his side’s 2-1 win over Udinese yesterday.
“It’s a very important result as it allowed us to consolidate fourth place.
“We played well and with character, it was just a shame we conceded a goal near the end.”
