Sacked Catania Coach Rolando Maran has written an open letter to thank the club’s fans for their support during his time in charge.
The tactician has now been dismissed from the post for the second time this season and leaves with the Elefanti looking doomed to relegation.
“I’m leaving Catania for the second time and for me this is probably even more difficult than the first time,” Maran wrote in La Sicilia.
“After nearly two years I take with me contrasting memories. This season there has been very little joy for anyone.
“I still remember last season though, an unforgettable season that was rich in satisfaction and successes that we shared with all the city.
“I want to thank everyone I worked with and who supported me. I also thank the city and the fans who always made me feel one of them, both in the good and the tough times.”
