Vincenzo Montella admits “the situation is difficult now” for Roma's Champions League hopes after a shock home defeat to Palermo.
This is their second consecutive loss at the Olimpico, as Juventus came away with the three points too.
“The Champions League situation is difficult now, but anything can happen in football,” he said of the 3-2 result.
“It's a shame, as we had done some good things today and created plenty of interesting scoring opportunities. Even if a little disorganised, we did try to win the game.”
The Coach feels the pressure of outside events, specifically late last night the completion of American businessman Thomas Di Benedetto's takeover, affected the side.
“We allowed ourselves to be influenced by the club affairs, even if players at this level – including their Coach – should focus only on the field.
“In any case, the team has already shown in other incidents that it struggles when it is time to make the step up in quality.”
