Newly re-instated Livorno Coach Davide Nicola believes thinking about next season now would be surrendering to relegation.
The tactician has replaced the sacked Mimmo Di Carlo and says he is well rested and motivated to keep the Amaranto up.
At a Press conference today he refused to take questions from the gathered reporters, insisting that all talking would be done on the pitch.
“I am motivated and rested,” Nicola said in a short statement. “The club are looking for us to put up a fight.
“Thinking about next season would mean we are giving up. Staying up will be a difficult challenge but it is not impossible.”
Nicola’s first game back in charge will be at home to Lazio on Sunday. The team are three points off safety with four matches of the season remaining.
