Alberto Aquilani “would prefer to stay in Italy” with Juventus rather than return to Liverpool, said his agent.
The midfielder spent this season on loan in Turin, but the Bianconeri are haggling over the option to make the move permanent.
“Alberto is proving his worth and has played at 70-80 per cent of his real capacity this term,” Franco Zavaglia told Radio Sportiva.
“The buy-out process was fixed in August 2010 and was very clear. How much is he worth? I don't know about that, as the value of players is also based on how much a side needs them.
“There shouldn't be any big problems in completing the buy-out. It's not a formality exactly, but Juventus will not allow one of the best midfielders in Europe to slip through their fingers.
“We'll see if Juve can save a little bit. Alberto would prefer to stay in Italy, but if he does have to return to Liverpool then it's not a drama.
“After all, he would be playing for one of the most important clubs in England.”
