Mehdi Benatia has revealed that Roma’s ambition in the coming seasons is to ‘play like Bayern Munich’.
The Giallorossi are currently second in the League table, five points behind leaders Juventus – whilst the Bavarian outfit wrapped up the Bundesliga title last month.
The central defender though, has admitted that his side are aiming towards a style of play similar to Pep Guardiola’s men.
“We are not at Bayern Munich’s level yet,” he told beIn Sports. “But we want to try and play like them.
“[Coach] Rudi Garcia speaks highly of Bayern because he loves their game. In the past I have had the opportunity to play with [Franck] Ribery at Marseille – but now I get to play with [Francesco] Totti!”
The Morocco international then commented on the Champions League, and who he thinks will make the final this season.
“I see the final being between Bayern and Chelsea. For me, Chelsea have more experience than Atletico Madrid.
“And if Ribery can play like he can, then Bayern will beat Real Madrid.”
