Edinson Cavani is tempted by a move to Real Madrid amid claims that talks to renew his contract at Napoli aren't going as well as planned.
Cavani feels his achievements this season deserve recognition and that his €1.8m a year pay packet needs improvement.
The Uruguay international, who has scored 25 goals in his first year at San Paolo in Serie A, is said to be looking for an extra €1m a season on top of his existing earnings.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claims there is still a great distance between what Napoli are offering and the demands put forward by his agents.
Interviewed before this summer's Copa America, Cavani said: "I am very happy in Naples. We are living a dream.
"I like challenges. One day I could leave only if there were the chance to measure myself at a club like Real Madrid or one of similar stature."
