Rafal Wolski can’t believe that Fiorentina teammate Giuseppe Rossi has been omitted from the Italy World Cup squad.
The Viola striker was cut from Cesare Prandelli’s finial 23 for the tournament in Brazil, with the Coach claiming that his inclusion was ‘too much of a risk’.
The Polish youngster though, has revealed his surprise at seeing the former Villarreal left at home.
“His exclusion has surprised me a lot,” Wolski told sport.pl. “I’ve seen Giuseppe in training recently and he has been working really hard – to me he seemed in great shape.”
The 22-year-old then commented on his own season with Vincenzo Montella’s men, and has admitted his annoyance at being left on the bench.
“I’m glad to have joined Fiorentina, but it’s normal that I’d want to play a bit more.
“I need to find my rhythm again, but the end of last season has left me optimistic for the next.”
