Marco Verratti has insisted that Italy will be ready once the World Cup comes around.
The Azzurri were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Luxembourg on Wednesday evening , but the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder has claimed that his side are not concerned by the performance.
“This was the first game in which we tried a new plan,” he told Rai Sport after the game.
“It’s unthinkable that we’d be at our best already. We’re working hard, but we know that when the World Cup comes around we’ll be ready.
“The result wasn’t what was important today.”
