Milan legend Marco Van Basten believes the club has a great future under Massimiliano Allegri.
Milan look set to win the Scudetto for the first time since 2004.
Allegri's side have an eight-point lead at the top with four games of the season remaining.
Interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Van Basten said: "Milan still aren't at the level of the three favourites for the Champions League, but they are building a real team and they will be back soon as equals with the big clubs.
"Allegri is a very calm and serene guy. He has clear ideas. I got to know him in Amsterdam then we saw each other again in Dubai. It's a pleasure to talk to him. He is a good Coach. Milan have chosen well."
Asked about the comparisons with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Van Basten said: "He has won many League titles with several different clubs, great European teams so he is a great player in Europe.
"Ibra is tired inside, mentally. He is a rock, a magnificent athlete who can do the attacking phase on his own."
