Fiorentina are preparing a bid for River Plate starlet Rogelio Funes Mori, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Viola are apparently planning to overhaul their squad at the end of the season.
Fiorentina director of sport Pantaleo Corvino feels the current team has reached the end of a cycle.
Funes Mori is said to be one of the players in which he holds an interest.
The 20-year-old striker is one of the hottest prospects in South America.
Benfica are also reportedly close to the player who River Plate plan to auction off to the highest bidder.
Corvino sees the publicity value in signing a promising Argentine striker like Gabriel Batistuta.
However, there is concern that a move to Europe might be too soon for Funes Mori.
