Pepe Reina has not ruled out the possibility of staying with Napoli but says he first needs to hold talks with Liverpool.
The Spanish goalkeeper spent this season on-loan with the Partenopei, helping Rafa Benitez’s team secure Champions League qualification and the Coppa Italia.
He is now on World Cup duty but admits he is still unsure as to what his club future holds, claiming he has still not spoken to anyone at Anfield.
“Staying at Napoli? I think the possibility is there,” Reina told Radio Onda Cero. “It depends on Liverpool, Napoli and Pepe Reina.
“At Napoli I was very happy this year. I felt wanted and there is a project on the table there that makes you dream.
“I’ve never ruled out the idea of staying at Napoli. I have a contract with Liverpool and I need to go back there, but there is also a chance that I will leave again.
“Atletico’s interest? It’s always pleasing to see yourself linked to an important club but the only reality is that I have to go back to Liverpool. I still haven’t spoken to the English club at all.”
