Spanish giants Barcelona are thinking about making a bid for Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi, according to the Catalan daily Sport.
The Italy international is enjoying a fabulous season at the Madrigal, scoring seven goals in 11 games in La Liga so far this season.
Sport understands that Pep Guardiola likes Rossi's pace and mobility, but also his adaptation to the Spanish game and remarkable sense of goal.
Villarreal reportedly turned down offers worth €12m for Rossi last season, although he does have a buy-out clause said to be around €40m in his contract.
Barcelona have already made their first signing of the January transfer window, agreeing a deal with PSV Eindoven for Holland international midfielder Ibrahim Afellay.
