Sampdoria face a relegation dogfight with Brescia and President Riccardo Garrone realises “it's the decisive moment of our campaign.”
The Blucerchiati finished fourth last season, but now find themselves battling to stay in Serie A.
They escaped the bottom three with last week's win at Bari, but only on goal difference, and on Sunday welcome penultimate side Brescia.
“This is a delicate time for the side and a decisive moment of our campaign,” declared President Garrone.
“I couldn't help but show my support to the squad at this time, so I had to visit the training ground.
“I hadn't met with the players for a few weeks, but I have always been close to them in spirit. I thanked them for last Saturday's victory.
“Now I expect them to give us another great gift this weekend, for both me and all the other Sampdoria supporters.”
