Antonio Candreva’s sister has revealed that the Lazio star is ‘sad and furious’ that Italy ‘went out and he did not play’.
The midfielder impressed in the Azzurri’s opening World Cup win against England, setting up Mario Balotelli’s winning goal, but was substituted on the hour mark against Costa Rica and then an unused substitute against Uruguay.
For his sister, there was a reason behind this and it is a source of frustration for the 27-year-old.
“I’ve spoken to him on Whatapp, he is sad and [furious] because we went out and he did not play,” Sara Candreva has told Rai Radio2 today.
“Against Costa Rica Antonio had a fever, but against Uruguay he was in great shape.”
