Udinese confirmed they “certainly won’t stand in his way” if Francesco Guidolin is offered the Italy job.
Guidolin retired from coaching this summer in order to become a club director, working to unite the three clubs owned by the Pozzo family – Udinese, Granada and Watford.
However, he has been repeatedly linked with the post-Cesare Prandelli era on the Azzurri bench.
“If the FIGC did call for Guidolin as the next Italy Coach, we certainly won’t stand in his way,” Udinese director of sport Cristiano Giaretta told Radio Sportiva.
Giaretta was also asked about reports Atletico Madrid want to sign goalkeeper Simone Scuffet and then loan him to Granada.
“We raised Scuffet here. There have been approaches, it is not in our interest to sell, but the market is what it is...”
