Serie B side Ascoli's hopes of escaping relegation suffered another blow with a new points penalty.
The club has already been docked six points for financial irregularities after President Roberto Benigni did not pay wages stretching back to July, August and September 2010.
They had appealed to the Federal Court, which today turned down the motion and added an extra one-point penalty.
It means in total Ascoli are docked seven points and drop down to fourth-from-bottom with 42 points.
