Gigi De Canio believes Napoli are “the best side in Italy on the counter,” but Lecce are incredibly motivated.
The Salentini are in the relegation zone and need points to escape the drop when they host the Partenopei this afternoon.
“I certainly don't expect Napoli to be unmotivated, as they are determined and eager to capture second place,” said the Coach.
“If you give them a little space, then they are the best side in Italy on the counter. They give no reference points in attack and their movement off the ball is very impressive.
“Our fans represent a secret weapon and their participation in this game could be crucial. The crowd gives the players these emotions that can then be transformed into greater effort, focus and the pleasure of playing football.”
David Di Michele was originally suspended for this game, but his three-match ban was wiped out on appeal.
“The decision confirmed the original ban was incorrect. Justice has been served, because the lad could not be suspended for doing nothing. David is an important player for us and this is one of three Finals for Lecce.”
Stefano Ferrario has pulled out after picking up an injury during training, but De Canio confirmed that Di Michele will start just behind Daniele Corvia.
