Pippo Inzaghi hopes to play on for another year after his devastating injury. “I intend to renew my contract with Milan.”
The striker scored some crucial goals in the early part of the campaign, but has been out of action since tearing the anterior cruciate ligament and external meniscus ligament in his left knee on November 10.
“I would like to take part in next season's celebrations too,” said SuperPippo after the 18th Scudetto party.
“Unfortunately this year I had to spend a lot of time on the sidelines, which is particularly difficult for someone like me, but I'm happy to celebrate another trophy with Milan.
“I have to praise the club, the directors and the squad, as we have a great group of players here. Everyone fits in perfectly.
“On Thursday I will resume full training with the team and hope to play the next game at San Siro.”
Inzaghi is one of several veterans whose contract expires on June 30 and negotiations have been postponed until the title was secure.
“I intend to renew my contract with Milan. I hope to end my career in this side and everything points towards that being the case.”
