Lazio boss Edy Reja believes a lack of transfer activity may see them miss out on the Champions League.
The capital outfit have been in the top four hunt for most of the season, but last week's loss to Udinese saw the Bianconeri move two points clear of them in the last Champions League spot.
"Considering how things have gone, perhaps we could have done a little more in the market," Reja said ahead of the Genoa game.
"You all know what our objectives were, both last summer and during the January window."
It's widely accepted that the Biancocelesti needed a new centre-forward and a couple more full-back options.
"To improve an already important squad by finding solutions in Europe and South America was not easy," continued the tactician.
"There were economical issues to consider, but also the fact that a few preferred not to join us. There were players who opted for different solutions as they weren't interested in coming to Rome.
"With the benefit of hindsight, considering how things have developed, we could have done a little more in January.
"At times you try to sign certain players and it is just not possible, but not because the President isn't behind the move.
"Sometimes negotiations just don't end up being successful, but that's what happens."
