Napoli's Marek Hamsik and Sandro of Tottenham could be targeted by Italian champions Milan over the summer.
The Rossoneri, fresh from their Scudetto triumph, want to build a side which is competitive enough to fight for the Champions League.
According to various Italian media on Monday, Napoli star Hamsik is at the top of boss Massimiliano Allegri's wish-list.
Nevertheless, the San Siro giants know that signing such a player would be a problematic swoop.
The Slovakian is one of the Azzurri's most prized assets and Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis would be reluctant to sell – especially after Napoli qualified for the European Cup last night for the first time in 21 years.
Add to that hurdle the fact that Hamsik would be valued at something like €30m by the San Paolo outfit and Milan may have to look elsewhere.
Meanwhile, the club are also being associated with Spurs midfielder Sandro after he impressed them in their Champions League meetings.
The South American is valued at around €15m and is wanted to strengthen a central midfield which may be without the likes of Clarence Seedorf, Massimo Ambrosini, Gennaro Gattuso and Andrea Pirlo next term.
Sandro holds a Portuguese passport and thus can be registered as an EU player.
Boss Allegri is set to meet with Vice-President Adriano Galliani this week to discuss the club's market strategy.
