Udinese talent Kwadwo Asamoah's agent has denied negotiations with Milan, but reports continue to suggest he is Andrea Pirlo's heir.
It is highly unlikely that Pirlo will extend his contract with the Rossoneri, which expires next month.
“Massimiliano Allegri wants a player with different characteristics in that midfield role,” explained assistant manager Mauro Tassotti.
The man who fits the bill would appear to be Udinese's Ghana international Asamoah, who scored a fine goal against Chievo at the weekend.
He is set to face Milan on Sunday in the final round of the Serie A season and there were rumoured talks between Rossoneri director Ariedo Braida and agent Claudio Vagheggi.
“I did meet with Braida, but can quite happily deny we talked about Kwadwo,” the representative told Calciomercato.it.
“At this moment the transfer market is the last thing on the mind of Udinese players. We certainly can't be discussing negotiations just five days before such an important and decisive game.
“There is absolutely nothing in it and everyone is concentrated only on Sunday's match. The lad is relaxed, he knows these rumours are normal, and is thinking only about the pitch. The same goes for his Udinese teammate, Pablo Armero.”
