Thomas Di Benedetto's plans for Roma include buying an American player during the summer transfer market.
The US businessman is close to finally taking control of the Italian giants and has spoken of his intentions in an interview with MLSsoccer.com.
"We are obviously scouting players everywhere and we are obviously interested in the American products, both in MLS and abroad," Di Benedetto said.
"I obviously can't tell you any names, but we want only the best for our team."
Decisions on which players to recruit will fall on Walter Sabatini, who Di Benedetto has confirmed will join the outfit.
"We chose the best managers available, starting with the new sporting director, Mr Walter Sabatini, a former Lazio and Palermo director and a Roma player in the '70s."
Sabatini was all set to join Sampdoria this summer, but made a late U-turn after being contacted by the new Roma owners.
Rumours suggest that Sabatini is keeping a close eye on Aston Villa's Michael Bradley, who is owned by Borussia Mönchengladbach, and LA Galaxy's Landon Donovan.
Di Benedetto is set to officially become the new Roma President on June 10.
