Riccardo Montolivo looks set to leave Fiorentina, but could be heading overseas to Bayern Munich.
The midfielder has rejected a contract extension offer and even Viola directors are “not optimistic” of seeing him at the club next season.
According to local newspaper Corriere Fiorentino, agent Giovanni Branchini has been in negotiations with the Bundesliga giants.
It would also be a positive move for Montolivo, who has German ancestry and would be able to play in the Champions League.
Meanwhile, the potential replacement at Fiorentina looks to be 22-year-old Standard Liege midfielder Axel Witsel.
