Bortolo Mutti was unable to rescue Bari from the drop and thanked the fans, “but my future is at home with my family.”
The Coach replaced Giampiero Ventura when the situation was already desperate and, although results and performances did improve, it was not enough to avoid relegation.
“I thank the fans who were always close to us despite the relegation, but I hope Bari can have more stability and find the resources to lift their heads,” he said of a side that risked bankruptcy.
“I came here to believe in the miracle of saving this squad. I didn't manage it and had to deal with a constantly full treatment room, but it was still an important experience for me.”
Many tacticians are already planning for next season, but Mutti takes a more relaxed approach.
“I will wait calmly in case an inviting offer comes for me, but I'm certainly not going to get upset about it. For now my future is at home with my family.”
