Milan President Silvio Berlusconi has promised to a crowd of Napoli fans that he “will not sign Marek Hamsik.”
Reports have been circulating over the past week that the Rossoneri are targeting Hamsik for their summer transfer campaign.
Patron Berlusconi, who is also Prime Minister of Italy, chose an unusual setting to comment on Milan's football policy.
He spoke to a crowd of people at a benefit concert for his political party in Naples' main square, Piazza del Plebiscito.
“I promise that I will not sign Hamsik. Milan don't go to steal the symbols of other clubs.”
Naturally, the statement sparked celebration in the Naples crowd.
