The Italian Federation will vote “in line with UEFA and it is not a problem” that Sepp Blatter is the only candidate for FIFA President.
FIFA have been thrown into disarray with the English and Scottish FA calling for tomorrow's election to be postponed, or planning to abstain.
Blatter is the only candidate after Mohamed Bin Hammam's withdrawal amid investigations into alleged of corruption.
“It's not a problem that the election has just one candidate, even if obviously an unpleasant situation has developed,” said FIGC President Giancarlo Abete on Sky Sport Italia.
“There is the utmost co-ordination with UEFA President Michel Platini. Therefore we will vote in line with the direction decided jointly with the UEFA hierarchy, of which I am a part.”
Abete is Vice-President of the UEFA Executive Committee.
