Former Spanish international Luis Enrique could be confirmed as the new Roma boss by Monday, reports claim.
The Barcelona B team Coach is a contender for the job and will allegedly hold talks with new sporting director Walter Sabatini in the next 48 hours.
Sabatini has switched his attention to the former midfielder after he reportedly met with Didier Deschamps yesterday.
The Frenchman is on the Eternal City club's shortlist, but his contract situation at Marseille is a problem.
It's understood that Roma would have to pay the French club a fee to release the ex-Juve boss and player.
Roma are unwilling to do that and thus Luis Enrique is now the hot favourite to replace Vincenzo Montella.
Sabatini is expected to leave Milan for Barcelona later today to hold further talks with the young tactician.
If an agreement can be reached, Luis Enrique's appointment could be made official by the start of next week.
