Gaetano D'Agostino wants to continue his career at Fiorentina despite a problematic debut campaign in Florence.
The midfielder joined the Viola in a co-ownership deal with Udinese, yet only started 12 League games.
The two clubs will now have to decide the player's future, but the Italian would rather remain at the Franchi than play in the Champions League next season with the Bianconeri.
"We're waiting to talk with Fiorentina," agent Paolo Rodella told firenzeviola.it. "Once we have then we will draw some conclusions.
"The co-ownership deal is an open one, but Gaetano has made it very clear that he wants to remain here.
"He wants to live in Florence and he's made some investments here too. He'll come back to Florence once his playing career is over.
"Let's see what the club's intentions are."
Fiorentina may decide to keep the player as there is uncertainty over the future or Riccardo Montolivo.
The Viola captain, similar in style to the former Roma youngster, has refused to sign an extension on his deal which expires in June 2012.
